Who the heck is Liz?

Bio
I’m a product leader, editor, and potter with a passion for bringing visions to life. Whether I’m guiding software through the discovery and launch process, shaping novels until they shine, or molding clay into something tangible, I’m most energized when I get to help creative ideas become real.
In my product work, I’m especially drawn to the early stages of the lifecycle. I love the discovery phase, when you’re listening to users, identifying problems, and imagining new solutions. I also love launching, that moment when all the research, collaboration, and building comes together and someone interacts with your work for the first time. There’s something magical about seeing someone use a new feature and have that immediate, joyful AHA moment. That’s when I know we’ve created something meaningful.

As much as I love software, my passion for storytelling runs just as deep. I’ve been a lifelong reader and fantasy nerd, and lately I’ve fallen hard for romantasy, where epic worldbuilding collides with rich emotional story arcs. That passion turned into something bigger when I co-founded a publishing company, Seven Sisters Fables, with a close friend. She’s launching her debut novel this August, Reign of the Glittering Flames, and I’ve been using my operational background to help bring her book into the world in a thoughtful, strategic way. Our goal is to use what we learn and apply it to future authors and titles, creating a supportive and smart path to independent publishing.
As I embark deeper into the editing, my favorite part is helping stories become clearer and stronger. I love cutting the fluff, smoothing transitions, and catching all the little errors that might otherwise distract readers. It’s rewarding to help a story flow better, to tighten pacing, and to support the author’s voice while elevating the overall work. It’s the same satisfaction I get from good product design, where the smallest adjustments can make the biggest difference in how something is experienced.
Another big part of my creative life is pottery. It all started when that same friend said she wanted to try ceramics, and I immediately said I was in. Say less, girl! I took a class, and it quickly became more than a hobby. I bought materials to build a home studio, and we’ve now been making pottery together for over three years. We create pieces year-round and sell them at book conventions and online through our website.
Pottery grounds me. It’s physical and tactile, and it teaches patience like nothing else. You have to be present with the clay, and you have to accept that some things won’t turn out the way you expect. There’s a quiet kind of magic in pulling a finished piece from the kiln after weeks of shaping, glazing, and firing. Every mug, bowl, or little trinket is a little celebration of process and imperfection. Like software and storytelling, it reminds me that creation is often nonlinear and that beauty can come from small, intentional choices.
My sister Danielle is a bright, resilient spirit who brings positivity to everything she touches. She’s experienced so many facets of life—military service, realty management, motherhood, and the quiet strength of country living. I admire her courage to step into the unknown with such grace. My brother Derek is sharp, driven, and endlessly focused. Watching him grow from a dedicated gamer into a data expert in corporate America—while also prioritizing fitness and inspiring others along the way—has been nothing short of impressive. I’m so proud to call them my siblings. They’re both remarkable in their own ways, and I’m grateful to walk through life with them.
Across all of these disciplines, what drives me is the desire to help ideas take form. I’m a natural builder, a systems thinker, and a creative problem solver. I love collaborating with people who have vision, and helping them bring that vision to life, whether through technology, words, or art.
If you’re here because you’re looking for a product collaborator, an editorial partner, or someone who understands how to bring structure to creative work, I’d love to connect. My work is about more than just getting things done. It’s about helping people bring their ideas to life in ways that are intentional, exciting, and true to their purpose.

Outside of work, I live a full and joyful life with my husband Justin and our two dogs, Amber and Coltrane, and try to see my siblings Danielle and Derek when I can. Justin and I are true partners. We balance each other in all the right ways. I pull him out of his shell, and he grounds me when I throw too much on my plate. We support each other in our work, our creative pursuits, and in life’s daily rhythms. Life is so much better with you in it, love.
Amber is the ultimate pittie cuddle bug. She’s never met a stranger, and she lives for belly rubs and attention. Coltrane is our goofball. He has a hilarious habit of greeting people by walking directly between their legs, which can be slightly jarring considering he’s a full-sized golden doodle. They’re constant companions and sources of joy, and they make even the busiest days better.
